No surprise here… Pallet Supports support the bottom of the pallet. Attached to the front and rear pallet rack beams, pallet supports prevent misaligned pallets from falling through the beams. They are also meant to support the full weight of the pallet, simply to prevent a pallet from falling if misaligned giving the forklift operator time to reset the pallet onto the beams. They do support the structural integrity of the pallet increasing useful life.
Pallet supports add structural support to the rack system and minimize deflection; however, in a roll-formed system, they do not affect load capacity. However, in structural pallet rack, pallet supports increase beam capacity by preventing beam twisting. This function increases the beam load rating.
